Grange Builders Providers ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… News Release 18 March 2009 GRANGE GOES GREEN Grange Builders Providers, Baldoyle, Dublin has just taken delivery of a new Smith Newton Electric 10 tonne truck with a box body and taillift, the first such vehicle to go into service in Ireland. The latest “zero carbon emissions” arrival, powered by the most modern Lithium-Ion Phosphate batteries and a 120kw induction motor will be used for the delivery of Granges vast array of building and DIY products. The Smith Newton motors along at a top speed of 80km/h and can travel up to 160kms from a single charge, ideal for city or large town use. This vehicle provides a 100% reduction in air pollution and carbon dioxide emissions at the point of use and if recharged with renewable energy, its daily operations will leave no carbon footprint. Additionally, noise pollution is almost non existent. It also has a regenerative braking system that recharges the batteries when the vehicle slows. This smoother braking system reduces wear and tear on the brakes and prolongs tyre life.

Since then the company has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of building materials and DIY products in In 2002, Grange became a member of Associated Hardware and began trading under the “Homevalue Hardware” brand before moving to its current location in Baldoyle Industrial Estate where it now employs over 70 staff. The company is a family run business and has built its growth around having a wide range of products and a same day delivery service using their current fleet of 21 trucks and 5 vans in In 1992, it set up a subsidiary company Ultrakabin, to manufacture and supply containers, cabins and welfare units nationwide to the construction sector, schools, roads and residential customers. Grange operates a green energy policy and recycles all its own waste paper, plastic, timber, steel, etc. The company has recently moved into the recycling sector with a new waste collection service. With the addition of ready-mixed mortar and ready- mixed concrete, Grange Builders Providers has now become a one stop shop for every customers building and DIY needs. He also welcomed the Governments recent announcement that companies purchasing these type vehicles can write the complete cost of purchase off against its Corporation Tax in year 1.
